International Play Therapy Week 2023
International Play Therapy Week was February 5-11 of 2023. It is an outreach project to demonstrate the quality and therapeutic abilities of play. Visitors were invited to color, blow bubbles, eat candy, and enjoy the play of others. Integrative Counseling Services had tables and participants at both office locations in Oswego, NY and Cicero, NY. For me, Child Center Play Therapy is the best way to treat children. I align therapy through how clients interpret and view different events that have happened in their lives. Children use play to figure out what happened, what it means to them, and process how to move forward with that complicated information. Children tell and process their stories through play and they will only do that in a warm, comfortable, and accepting environment.
