we actively work with others and ourselves to make this a reality.

0 – 5 minutes Introduction, description of learning objectives, setting the agenda for the
workshop

5 – 10 minutes Ice breaker activity. Description of a current life accomplishment or a future goal
one hopes to achieve. Finding someone who shares that goal/accomplishment then introducing to group.
Learning Objective – Leads to better group dynamics later in the session (informal), building positive social connections.
10-30 minutes Lecture/discussion: Discussion of normalizing experiences begins with experiences we all share, doctor’s offices, shopping trips.
Activity: why are some activities normal and others not talked about? Discuss ways to encourage others to accept and improve discussions around mental health.

30 – 50 minutes Words Matter: Two parts: 1) Provided examples of phrases and what their connotations are, 2) group offered words, how they feel, and words the group would prefer to have used. (Ex. Mental health problems becomes Mental health concerns. Former addict becomes person in recovery)

50 – 70 minutes Discussion. Open period of discussion on visible an invisible factors leading to stigmatized mental healthcare.
Learning objective – Support challenge and care for each others.
70 – 80 minutes Wrap up and review of the key points. Thank audience and close.
